Mr. Nicewonger organized and escorted Boy Scout Troop 31's 8-day exploration through Texas in July, 2007. Besides these two trips, he also explored Atlanta and Pittsburgh this summer.
A Fall Colors exploration of New England is being planned. Sites will include Acadia National Park in eastern coastal Maine and the Rangely Lakes area in northern Maine. In New Hampshire, Mt. Washington and the Cog Railway, Kancamagus Hwy., Franconia Notch, Conway Railroad, Wildcat Gondola, and the relaxing Dana Place Inn will be attractions and destinations to enjoy. In Vermont, the Trapp Family Lodge near Stowe, dairy country of the Lake Champlain Valley, and the Route 100 Scenic Byway through Weston and Rochester will be explored. The Norman Rockwell Museum and Tanglewood in the Berkshire Mountains will be visited in Massachusetts. Also, the Mohawk Trail with the Bridge of Flowers and Tyringham Galleries will be experienced in Mass. Following in the footsteps of Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys, a ferry will take us to Fort Ticonderoga in New York state. Sleepy Hollow, FDR's Home, Bear Mountain, Olana State Historical Site, Saratoga Springs, and Watkins Glen scenic area will also be explored in New York. In Pennsylvania, Shankesville's Flight 93 Memorial, Philadelphia, Valley Forge, and Washington Crossing the Delaware SHS will be toured. New Jersey's scenic Rt. 29 along the Delaware River is another scenic goal of the Fall Colors trip.
